Who is responsible for your data

What we collect

• Technical & log data — IP address, browser and device type (user-agent), referring page and timestamps, recorded automatically by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics.
• Analytics data — anonymised or aggregated information about pages viewed and general location (country/region), used to understand which reviews are useful.
• Cookies & similar identifiers — small files used for essential functions, analytics, and, where you opt in, advertising and push notifications. See our Cookie Policy.
• Advertising identifiers — identifiers advertising partners may use to measure and deliver ads, only where permitted by your consent choices.
• Subscription form data — the name, phone number (optional) and email address you submit, plus a record of your consent.
• Web-push identifiers — if you enable notifications, a device/subscription identifier managed by our push provider, OneSignal.

Why we collect it, and our legal basis

Under PIPEDA we rely on your knowledge and consent. We use personal information to: operate and secure the website; understand and improve our content through analytics; send you the updates you asked for by email or web-push; and display and measure advertising. Providing form data is voluntary; if you choose not to, you can still use the site freely.

Web-push notifications & OneSignal

Our subscription and push notifications are powered by OneSignal, Inc., acting as our service provider (processor). When you opt in, OneSignal processes a push subscription identifier and any tags we attach (such as your name, phone, email and the source of the sign-up) solely to deliver our notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time by turning off notifications in your browser settings or by emailing [email protected]. OneSignal processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy terms.

Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only with service providers who help us run the site, under contractual safeguards:

• Hosting provider — stores and serves the website and its logs.
• Analytics provider — measures aggregate site usage.
• Advertising networks — deliver and measure ads, subject to your consent.
• OneSignal — delivers email and web-push messages you subscribed to.

Some providers may process data outside Canada; where that happens, the information remains subject to comparable protection and to this policy.

How long we keep it

Log and analytics data are retained only as long as needed for security and measurement, then deleted or anonymised. Subscription and push data are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to erase them, after which they are removed within a reasonable period.

Your rights under PIPEDA

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or withdraw your consent and ask us to delete your data.
